MFY Friday 12th June
Welcome to MFY Friday at London International Music Show (LIMS) - the UK’s greatest festival of music learning where thousands of students and teachers come together for a fantastic day to find out about everything related to music.
Now in its second year at the ExCeL exhibition centre, London Docklands, the LIMS education focused day will be held on June 12th 2009 and with our new partner Music For Youth, this day will bring a whole new dimension to performance and participation at Lims.
MFY Friday at LIMS is THE opportunity to learn something new about music, to be inspired by music and to engage with the music industry as a whole.
The MFY Friday Live Hall offers loads of opportunities to get involved in the music-making.
Bring your instrument for the BiG BaND and your voice for the BiG SiNG. Join us for this exciting collaborative journey as we piece together the sounds of LIMS. The BiG BaND can involve up to 1,000 musicians so everyone is encouraged to bring an instrument (of any kind) to help create this unique spectacle!
Come and be inspired by the performances, demonstrations and talks on the MFY Live Stage which can be found in the exhibition hall. Get ready to take part in the BiG RiFF, guaranteed to stop the show…the exhibitors will be waiting for you!
Scattered throughout the show will be Buskers, inspirational speakers, career advisers music master classes and more.
MFY Friday is all about trying something new, getting inspired and being creative! Packed with inspirational activity for every style of music, there are plenty of possibilities for your day.
The Exhibition
With over 200 top manufacturers exhibiting, this is the biggest exhibition of instruments under one roof in the UK. Covering state-of-the-art equipment to dream instruments, acoustic to digital, recording to stage equipment, software to sheet music, educational courses to accessories, the show brings together the world’s most famous manufacturers, displaying the coolest new innovations and the most exciting gear the music world has to offer.
The Venue
ExCeL London, is now firmly established as one of the UK’s premier (and largest) exhibition venues. Located in the heart of London’s Docklands, ExCeL is set within a stunning waterfront environment in the dynamic and thriving Docklands. Public transport links to ExCeL are well fast and well established. Canary Wharf and Central London are just minutes away on the Docklands Light Railway and the Jubilee Line with a short 30 minute trip to the West-End. There is also easy access to the M25, M11, A406, A13 and ExCeL offers car parking facilities for over 4,000 cars. Tickets for the LIMS education day are priced at £5 each for students in a group, with teachers going free when registered on http://www.lims09registration.com/

Music for Youth is the world’s largest youth music festival.
For nearly four decades, Music for Youth has been showcasing the eclectic and energetic mix of musical styles created and performed by young people.
Every Season we work with 100,000 performers and audience; 1,300 music leaders and 50 venues across the UK. Anyone can enter the MFY Season, it’s free and as long as you are in a group of two or more and are aged 21 or under you can take part.
